▷ Cleaning grain from impurities is the most important technique in grain processing, affecting the stability of the quality of stored grain

Cleaning grain from impurities

The harvested grain contains a large amount of impurities. These may be grains of other crops and plants, small grains, damaged grains, organic and mineral inclusions, harmful impurities. Separation is a method used to clean grain from foreign impurities. In the process of grain cleaning, the grain product is divided into component fractions that have a homogeneous composition and the same set of characteristics (density, shape, particle size, aerodynamic properties of grains, etc.). To clean grain from impurities special equipment is required, the development of which takes into account the characteristics and properties of various grain fractions. Grain cleaning includes three main stages: preliminary, primary and secondary cleaning (sorting, calibration).
The OLIS company produces various equipment for grain cleaning. For primary cleaning, a drum-type separator “LUCH ZSO” is used to prepare the grain and create conditions for its processing during the following operations. During primary cleaning, the main goal is to separate various impurities with minimal grain loss. The grain separator “Horizon-K” is ideal for this operation. Secondary cleaning is carried out using specialized equipment – a trier TCK, TCO, as well as a pneumatic sorting table SPS. Grain separators “HORIZONT-K” and “LUCH” ZSO include all three stages of cleaning, so they are universal equipment for cleaning grain from impurities.
