In June, a powerful pea processing plant YEDNIST’ FOOD was launched in Poltavska Oblast. The plant can process 120 tons of peas per day. The project was implemented in partnership between two Ukrainian companies – the leading fodder producer YEDNIST’ GROUP and OLIS, a manufacturer of equipment for the grain processing industry.
The peculiarity of the plant was the introduction of innovative OLIS technology for the production of unground pea groats, realized without the use of peeling and grinding machines. By its appearance the groats obtained differ significantly from the groats produced by traditional technology. Smooth, glossy surface of grains without traces of damage gives the groats an improved marketable appearance. In addition, this processing approach allowed to increase the yield of finished products by 3-4% compared to the traditional technology of pea groats production.
The key link in the technological process is the MRG machine developed by OLIS. It combines peeling and splitting operations without abrasive grinding. This minimizes product losses in the form of flour and crushed peas and preserves the integrity of the seed parts.
According to the CEO of YEDNIST’ GROUP Sergey Bakum, this project is mainly export-oriented. It is also the first complex project for the company, where the production line is completely built on the solutions of one manufacturer – the Ukrainian company OLIS.

Previously, we have already used some units of this company, so we had confidence in the quality, and most importantly – the equipment is not inferior to European analogs, while remaining economically feasible,” said Sergiy Bakum.
